All About Rowan

What can I say about our little 18 monther?? Lots!!! He is getting so big, I can't believe he's my baby!!! Rowan is at my all time favorite stage. He's learning and becoming more aware of how the world all works. He is really starting to discover so many new things!! And I really enjoy watching him learn all about his world.

The biggest change in Rowan over the last 2 months has been his speech development. He has so many new words and is even putting a couple together. Just today he said "another Dora" when Dora ended on the t.v. I love hearing what he has to say. Ashlyn is enjoying having her little brother able to talk to her instead of just scream at her.

Rowan is our little monkey. He will climb anything and everything. Chairs, tables, change tables, couches, toys - you name it. If it can be climbed, he will! Though its pretty cool he has no fear of heights or falling - its scary for mommy and a pain in the but for me to have to watch him soooo closely when I have so many kids in my care!!

Another big change for Rowan has been his teeth. Just 2 months ago he had 6 teeth. Today, he has 11!!! And has more on the way. He has been miserable at times, cuttin so many teeth at once, but I am glad they are finally giving him a break. It was really bad at first. Then I got him an amber twethig necklace, and it seemed to help!! Any one with a cranky, teething baby - I highly recommend using one!

Rowan is becoming quite the little helper. He is never far behind mommy and daddy when there are dishes to in load or laundry to fold. We like to encourage him to do his part and help - but this usually ends up making more of a mess for us!!

Rowan is finally at an age where doing things as a family are getting easier and easier. He is better about traveling, and is starting to actually enjoy the things we do instead just making it more work than it's worth LOL all you moms out there, you understand what I am talking about :)

This summer is going to be so much fun with him. We are looking forward to rotary, the park, picnics, and walks. Can't wait!!!

Here are some pics of him for you all to enjoy!!

All About Ashlyn

So this post is dedicated to what's going on in the world of Ashlyn. She turned 3 in January and had a princess birthday party that she LOVED!!!! It was so much fun. This is her first birthday that she has known what is going on.

There are a few things that Ashlyn has really grown to love and play with over the last 6 months.

1) Ashlyn has become a "doll girl". She can often be seen carrying, pushing, or mommying a doll. It is so cute to watch her be so gentle and nice to her baby dolls.

2). Ashlyn has what is called "little friends". Some of these little friends are tiny animal figurines, and some of them are the baby dolls from her doll house. Some of them have names, and others are just there as fillers in whatever scenario she has thought up. By far, her favorite lite friends are her pigs (dirty and clean) and her baby dolls from the doll house (Cader and cadie).

3) memo, strawberry shortcake, and blues clues.

Ashlyn also has an imaginary friend that comes to play only once in a while. His name is Hardy. He eats bits of carrots, and if you are really special. She just might let you hold him. Hardy hasn't made an appearance the last few months though, ever since she and Isabel (a daycare girl) have become beat friends.

Speaking of Isabel, that's Ashlyn's really good friend. The girls have had sleep overs, and play every day. I am sad to think that next year Izzy starts school full time. Which means a sad Ashlyn.

Ashlyn now attends preschool at the child development centre on Fridays - all by her self. And she loves it. She does sooo well with staying there by herself. Bit I can sure tell if she misses a week. She is really clingy and scared the next time she goes. I am thinking about finding a daycare for her for over the summer holidays when preschool is shut down. Boy is she going to miss that.

One thing that happened today actually was that we were going to the CCRR to fax some stuff and she totally recognized where we were. The CCRR also holds play groups and she asked if we were going to playgroup. So i am less stressed about what the summer holidays are going to do to her. We have worked so hard to get here where she is now in terms of her separation anxiety.

We sure are enjoying being parents to this little girl. She is so full life and energy!! She make us want to do all sorts of fun family things together. It's totally fun just to hang out with her and hear what she has to say about things. Oh the things a 3 year old says!!! Sometimes, I just busy a gut listening to her. Where she comes up with half the stuff she says, I'll never know. But I sure do enjoy it!

Well that's all about Ashlyn :). I will leave you with a few pictures that you can enjoy. :)

Sorry

Hey guys. Sorry for not blogging in a long time but I have the blogger set up on my iPhone now, so I won't be going so long between blogs. Spring is coming and we are all getting antsy to get outside. Thought the weather is nice, every thing is still covered in snow, so there really isn't anywhere to go and play other than the street - which isn't so safe for kids.

My daycare is is totally full. 5 kids plus my 2 make for very long days. Thankfully, they are all good kids and get along with each other. Makes my job much easier.

Danny started a new job at the secure plant. He loves it. He works 4 days 4 off, 4 nights 4 off. His shifts are 12 hrs long though, and that's what I find the most difficult about this new job. I am actually struggling a bit to get used to this all. But he is way happier, and getting paid more. So all in all - well worth the change. I just need to suck it up and get used to not having Daniel around so much all the time.

One thing that I have started doing is "the big cook". They have pretty much been a life saver. The just of it is that 4 ladies (or more) get together and make a whole ton of meals together. The meals are all stored in freezer bags and divided up at the end of the day. This month o got 24 meals put into my freezer. All the meals can be cooked from frozen in a crock pot or oven. This takes to much stress and thinking off me during those 4 days when Danny works. Nutritious meal in about an hr and a half (If I have forgotten to but it in the crock pot). Bam. Supper.

I'll blog again soon on what is new with the kiddies :)

But for now - chow!!!

Take a look out my front window. See what I mean - we have no where to go yet. The snow is probably still over waist deep on Ashlyn in the front yard.

Yikes

Well I guess its been a good 6 months since I blogged! Friends and family out there who actually follow me, IM SORRY!

What a long, depressing winter this is! I am going nuts, locked up here in the house with 6 kids... they are going crazy too. My kids love having the daycare kids around, but on Saturday and Sunday, they seem grateful to have a break. I am just counting down the time untill we can take advantage of those long summer days. I am looking forward to Rotary, parks, and THE OKANAGAN! YES!!! We are planning a trip down there in july, a full week of pure beach bums! I can't wait. Rowan is going to be old enough to actually have fun this year. We might even think about going camping :) ahhhhh I was made for the summer.

Our little family has gone through some drastic changed in the last few months. Due to my allergies, we have had to find Mickey a new home. I have found the perfect home for him, with a 3 year old girl on a farm. He's going to have a blast, though we will miss him terribly. It was a HARD decision to decide which dog to keep, but in the end, Milo's more useful as a breeder. Sad, but thats what it came down too. Hard to see him go though. I am just hoping that I wont have to get rid of Milo too.

The other change that our family has gone through is Daniel finally got a new job. Not only does this relieve us financially a bit, but hes much happier where he is. He was getting pretty sick and tired of working where he was. But he's worked hard, and is much happier. However, this job is a little less conducive for family life. Between nights, and 12 hr shifts, its a lot for our family to adjust to. But we are working it all out, and the kids are getting used to not having Daddy home every night. We are all managing :) ahhhhh I think I hear him pulling in now.

So I guess that ends my update! Chow!

Fall is commin!

My favorite, but most dreadful time of the year! Not to hot, not to cold, and oh so pretty!!! but it means winter is next. Which is TOO cold and has entirely TOO much snow!!!!

Well this fall, Rowan turns a year old!! Can you believe that. In 47 hrs exactly. Little man, where did time go?!?! He goes for his one year check up tommorrow. I will try and post his weight and height up, but heres some other fun stats about him.
  • Rowan's walking - correction, Running!
  • He has a grand total of 4 teeth that he worked very hard to cut!
  • He has had one hair cut
  • He can open doors, and climb just about anything!
  • He can say Bye bye, uh-oh, yes, no, up, dada, and mama.
  • He can clap and wave bye.
  • His favorite words to say are dada and No!
  • He amazes me each and every day!
What an amazing little boy I have!!!!

Ashlyn has grown so much this summer! She put on 5 lbs and is currently sitting at 30 lbs. She is super tall, and has grown probably a good 6 inches the last 2 months. She too amazes me each and every day! The other day she was trying to do something, and couldn't. She passed me what ever it was she was having troubles with and said "you help me? It's frustrating me." WOW!!! What a concept! my little 2.5 year old understands the concept of frustration, and realizes that she needs help! I was totally flabbergasted!

Well, thats an update on the kiddos - im out for the night. It's almost 1 am here!
Chao!

Well, so much has happened in the last bit!!!!!!!!!!!

Ashlyn's potty trained!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY! One day, I sat her on the potty and she peed, and ever since shes wanted the potty rather then her diaper! She still gets a diaper at night though. She is such an amazing little thing. Her speech really has taken off. She can have a full conversation with someone else now, and there isn't a word she wont attempt to say. (Including swear words!) She loves to boss the other children around. Sometimes I have to remind her to BE NICE! Currently, we are working on what each letter of the alphabet says (phonics). She is such a smart cookie!

Rowan's eating solids now! He loves food! He, however, does NOT like avocado! He can sit up all by himself now, and loves playing with toys. I can't believe he is 7 months old already. Time is flying by!

Danny got a new position at work. He now works 4 days a week, 10 hrs a day, and is home by 3! It is so amazing. We are really enjoying the guaranteed hrs, and regular schedule. Which makes my job easier - which is my daycare! I now have a full house. I have 2 full timers, a part (but soon to turn into a full time) and 2 after school children that I care for. I am really enjoying my job, and loving staying home with my children. Sometimes its hard, because one of my little guys comes on weekends, so I just about never get a day off, but I have a wonderful husband who helps me out around the house, does the night feedings with Rowan, and even cooks supper. It takes a lot of the pressure off me :)

Another reason we are excited in life is that we recently started taking Mona Vie, and are hoping to pursue it as a business! :)

We are enjoying our summer weather. It's been so nice out lately. I almost can't keep the kiddies inside! I have tulips and gladiolas starting to come up in my garden, and there are little buds on my lilac trees and raspberry bushes! I just live spring time. I can't wait to start taking the kiddies to Rotary Lake again this summer! Ahhhhh.

Another thing to look forward to is our vacation coming up the end of June. A week with Dave, Jen, and Zoƫ on Tatuk Lake! :) should be fun!

Long Time No See

Hey ya! Sorry its been a while since I posted! I have a lot of updating to do!

Life:
So our house still hasn't sold :( we were hoping to be out of here by now. I have taken on 3 more day care kids. Tryeton is a 1year old who i have mon-friday. His siblings are Oceanna and Austin, 5 & 10, who I have after school. I am having a lot of fun with them. The other day we were all playing hide and seek and Trey kept showing everyone where his sibling were hidden. We have had another litter of shelties born. 1 boy and 5 girls! Go Misty and Milo! Actually, I have spent the last 3 days working on a website to advertise them. www.larmorshelties.com check it out! I am very proud of it!

Ashlyn:
Wow! Is she ever growing! In the last 2 weeks, she has started talking in sentences! Some parts are still missing, and sometimes its backwards, but its sentences! The other day she said: "Ashlyn love Mommy. Ashlyn love Daddy. Ashlyn love Rowan." It was so freaking cute! Another cute story: First you have to know my kid is in love with chocolate milk! We went grocery shopping last Saturday and as soon as she seen Extra Foods she yelled "CHOCOLATE MILK STORE!" Daniel and I burst out laughing! I was HALAR! She also is starting to get a sense of possession. Just today Ayeden was playing with Ashlyns tag pen and she yelled "No AYEDEN! NO TOUCH IT! MY PEN!" UH OH!

Rowan:
Rowan has started solid foods. So far he has had pablum, squash, pears, and banana. He's loved it all :) Cant get enough of it. The last week we have worked really hard to sleep train Rowan. Even though it was very hard for mommy to hear her baby cry, after just 3 days we can put Rowan in bed awake, and he falls asleep on his own. His bed time is between 5:30 and 6:30 depending on when he has had his last nap. He gets up around 6ish. He only wakes up to eat 1-2 times in between, and goes right back to sleep! It's a big accomplishment for me! Better then being up every hr during the night, up at 5 am and not going to bed till nearly midnight!

Well I guess that is all for now! TTYL!
