All About Ashlyn

So this post is dedicated to what's going on in the world of Ashlyn. She turned 3 in January and had a princess birthday party that she LOVED!!!! It was so much fun. This is her first birthday that she has known what is going on.

There are a few things that Ashlyn has really grown to love and play with over the last 6 months.

1) Ashlyn has become a "doll girl". She can often be seen carrying, pushing, or mommying a doll. It is so cute to watch her be so gentle and nice to her baby dolls.

2). Ashlyn has what is called "little friends". Some of these little friends are tiny animal figurines, and some of them are the baby dolls from her doll house. Some of them have names, and others are just there as fillers in whatever scenario she has thought up. By far, her favorite lite friends are her pigs (dirty and clean) and her baby dolls from the doll house (Cader and cadie).

3) memo, strawberry shortcake, and blues clues.

Ashlyn also has an imaginary friend that comes to play only once in a while. His name is Hardy. He eats bits of carrots, and if you are really special. She just might let you hold him. Hardy hasn't made an appearance the last few months though, ever since she and Isabel (a daycare girl) have become beat friends.

Speaking of Isabel, that's Ashlyn's really good friend. The girls have had sleep overs, and play every day. I am sad to think that next year Izzy starts school full time. Which means a sad Ashlyn.

Ashlyn now attends preschool at the child development centre on Fridays - all by her self. And she loves it. She does sooo well with staying there by herself. Bit I can sure tell if she misses a week. She is really clingy and scared the next time she goes. I am thinking about finding a daycare for her for over the summer holidays when preschool is shut down. Boy is she going to miss that.

One thing that happened today actually was that we were going to the CCRR to fax some stuff and she totally recognized where we were. The CCRR also holds play groups and she asked if we were going to playgroup. So i am less stressed about what the summer holidays are going to do to her. We have worked so hard to get here where she is now in terms of her separation anxiety.

We sure are enjoying being parents to this little girl. She is so full life and energy!! She make us want to do all sorts of fun family things together. It's totally fun just to hang out with her and hear what she has to say about things. Oh the things a 3 year old says!!! Sometimes, I just busy a gut listening to her. Where she comes up with half the stuff she says, I'll never know. But I sure do enjoy it!

Well that's all about Ashlyn :). I will leave you with a few pictures that you can enjoy. :)

Sorry

Hey guys. Sorry for not blogging in a long time but I have the blogger set up on my iPhone now, so I won't be going so long between blogs. Spring is coming and we are all getting antsy to get outside. Thought the weather is nice, every thing is still covered in snow, so there really isn't anywhere to go and play other than the street - which isn't so safe for kids.

My daycare is is totally full. 5 kids plus my 2 make for very long days. Thankfully, they are all good kids and get along with each other. Makes my job much easier.

Danny started a new job at the secure plant. He loves it. He works 4 days 4 off, 4 nights 4 off. His shifts are 12 hrs long though, and that's what I find the most difficult about this new job. I am actually struggling a bit to get used to this all. But he is way happier, and getting paid more. So all in all - well worth the change. I just need to suck it up and get used to not having Daniel around so much all the time.

One thing that I have started doing is "the big cook". They have pretty much been a life saver. The just of it is that 4 ladies (or more) get together and make a whole ton of meals together. The meals are all stored in freezer bags and divided up at the end of the day. This month o got 24 meals put into my freezer. All the meals can be cooked from frozen in a crock pot or oven. This takes to much stress and thinking off me during those 4 days when Danny works. Nutritious meal in about an hr and a half (If I have forgotten to but it in the crock pot). Bam. Supper.

I'll blog again soon on what is new with the kiddies :)

But for now - chow!!!

Take a look out my front window. See what I mean - we have no where to go yet. The snow is probably still over waist deep on Ashlyn in the front yard.
